Olivier de Sylva is from Belgium's capital, Brussels, with a background in construction, sales and shop management. He came for 6 months to London in 2003 to learn English. Eventually he stayed longer and besides learning English, he also learned wall and floor tiling thanks to one of his friends, Sam Brookes, an experienced ceramics tiler who has been working in the trade for more than ten years. In 2005, he started his own company and offers from then his service as a sole trader; tiling residential, commercial, wall and floor premises.

From the start, Olivier invested all his profits in the company to get all the tools and equipment needed to give a professional service. He also invested in creating, promoting and marketing a brand which would give confidence to any potential customer, that it's still possible to have a good, honest and friendly service, even today.

Olivier is already working to give stability to the newly created company with a view to expanding and recruiting experienced and trainee tilers to work to a high standard giving total satisfaction to all customers.

It has been very rewarding for Olivier to see Firstilers' continued expansion with a growing number of happy customers giving positive and verifiable feedback.
